A Colonial Williamsburg Holiday

There is something so magical about visiting Colonial Williamsburg during the holidays. From the exquisite wreaths to the delicious smells of cinnamon and roasting hazelnuts, its absolutely intoxicating. I visited last week with my family for Thanksgiving and let me tell you, it was hard to leave! Check out a few of my favorite details from this festive and fun long weekend with my family.

There was an open air market where dried flowers were sold as well as stunning holiday bouquets and potted plants. I had to hold back from stuffing the whole market in the trunk of my Prius...

Fun fact: this kale was grown completely underground, hence it's pale coloring. The gardener said it was done this way to give the kale a more pleasant/less bitter taste. Now you know!

There is something so wonderful about moss covered roof tops. Almost every home and building had them and I couldn't help but wonder if this is something we could do to ours...
